The Junk Dr. started with a simple idea: people do not always need another contractor. Sometimes they need someone willing to show up, get their hands dirty, and take care of what has been piling up.

Founder Dane Rickford enjoyed working with trucks, equipment, and hands-on problems. There was something satisfying about taking a property overwhelmed by unwanted belongings or debris and turning it back into a clean, usable space. That idea became the foundation for The Junk Dr.

The name has a family story behind it, too. Dane's wife came up with The Junk Dr., with the "Dr." also representing Dane Rickford's initials, D.R. What began as a name became a reflection of the family-run business they were building together.
